September – Bricky BE is our closest event, xc course designer and event owner Micheal Mundon always designs a challenging course which is also a fair and rewarding.
Timex was once again on fine form! Dressage was a bit tense as he hasn’t been on grass for a while but nonetheless he scored a competitive 32. He then followed it up with ANOTHER double clear! Time was tight and the ground was on the firm side so we picked up 4.8 time. Finishing 2nd in the ONu18!
Kativa Shadow did a nice test but harshly marked for 36.5 he then got rather excited over the small jumps (BE100) for a slightly careless two poles. I then ran him very slowly XC but clear.
Now for the EMBARRASSING part Greenhays Future Role was a bit tense in the dressage but expected due to a lack of outings. He then decided he prefers jumping bigger spooky courses, so had 2 poles but i have not been riding him at all due to time. He then did a beautiful, confident clear xc over a descent track. However I missed the very discreet hedge beside the gap, happily galloping straight past!
Larkhill (October) with just Timex was my last event of the season. I can now proudly say we have not had a SJ fault all season over some very tough tracks with limited clears! A great end to the season as he followed up with a clear XC. A very disappointing mark in the dressage of 32.5 as we thought it would be mid 20s nevertheless another good one for the section. I didn`t run him fast again so 9 time put us into 5th. Very emotional as it is very likely to be my last event on him, he will be sold or possibly go to my younger sister.
Kitty my younger sister got incredibly excited when we allowed her to take Timex out SJ, having ridden him twice before. Making the most of it she piloted a very excited and fully fit FEI pony to a quick double clear in the last class of the day the 3″3 taking the win and qualifying for the Dengie Regionals.
Other news:
- Timex qualified for the Regional Novice and Elementary BD.
