Spring is a wonderful time, as rider and coach. Everyone is excited to set goals for the year ahead, and they are being rewarded for training. The horses are in fantastic condition, and happy to be back competing.
Global Super Nova has set the standard high! Dressage wins were followed by 6/6 British Showjumping double clears and top 4 placings in our first week back jumping at Chard Equestrian. We both love to go fast, and Nova is very careful – our final round showed this as we sped to victory in the Foxhunter (1.20m) class.
I look forward to competing and training more with the horses, whilst continuing to progress with my own fitness. At present, I am averaging 120km a week using my legs, not the horses! I will continue cycling, walking, squating and lunging my way to a healthier and happier human! The reward… bed bound with spinal damage, to riding 7 horses in a day within 7 months!
Despite the frightful forecast, let’s live like it’s Spring and look forward to the Summer!
